The decision to undergo orthodontic treatment can greatly improve the appearance of your smile, oral health, and self-confidence. For patients with moderate alignment issues, clear aligners may be your best bet for a quicker, straighter smile, however, every patient and their needs vary and not every patient is a suitable candidate for clear aligners. For patients with more severe cases, including overbites and underbites, crooked teeth, or overcrowding, traditional braces are for you. Whether your case is moderate or severe, you can rest assured that our orthodontist can provide you with the highest level of care possible to provide you with a smile you will love.
A orthodontic emergency, whether it is experienced by your teeth, gums, brackets, wires, or elsewhere, can have severe ramifications if ignored, especially when effects are permanent or require extensive, expensive treatment in the future. Here are the top orthodontic emergencies you should know about:
Uneven or crooked teeth can effect your self-confidence and many patients are apprehensive about undergoing orthodontic treatment due to the noticeable brackets and amount of time needed from start to finish. If you have avoided straightening your teeth until this point, clear aligners may be for you.
Traditional braces use metal wires and brackets to shift teeth into proper alignment. Over the course of your treatment, we regularly perform adjustments at our office. During these visits, we tighten the wires, which cause your teeth to move into the next phase of alignment.
Self-ligating braces straighten teeth using brackets and an archwire, without the use of rubber bands. Instead of using rubber bands to connect the brackets to the archwire, self-ligating braces use a specialized bracket that clips onto the wire. This process creates a streamlined, discreet treatment plan.
When an orthodontist mentions “oral surgery,” many patients begin to panic. Most patients think that there is something seriously wrong with them, or that they are going to be undergoing a dangerous, painful, and expensive procedure. The truth is, however, that many oral surgery procedures are commonplace.
If you suffer from advanced gum disease, missing teeth, or widespread oral health issues, you may try to hide your smile. We are dedicated to helping our patients find a solution for their needs, regardless of the state of their oral health. A full mouth reconstruction is a personalized treatment plan.
